2 Vehicles Stolen in South Perry Hall

A Jeep Wrangler and Volkswagen Jetta were reported stolen between March 30 and April 1.

Two vehicles were reported stolen over the weekend in Dunfield Road and Ridgely's Choice Drive neighborhoods in South Perry Hall.

Between 11:30 p.m. on March 30 and noon on March 31, at the corner of Arwell Court and Dunfield Road, a black 2006 Volkswagen Jetta was reported stolen. There were no signs of vehicle damage on the scene and the vehicle owner told police the keys had been left inside, according to a police report.

Between 2 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. on April 1, in the unit block of Cavan Green near Ridgely's Choice Drive, a silver 2005 Jeep Wrangler was reported stolen. There were no signs of vehicle damage on the scene, a police report showed.

Investigators do not believe there are any connections between the two vehicle thefts at this time, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville precinct.

Dorsey strongly encouraged residents to keep their vehicles locked and not leave the keys inside.

Children from the Belmont condominiums in that area attend Perry Hall Elementary School.
Does that count?

Well, you could call White Marsh Run the southern boundary before Fullerton? I don't remember a welcome to Perry Hall sign like the one on Joppa Rd. Think I'll make sure my car is locked :-)

The Jetta case sounds like an inside job.
Who leaves the keys in any car in that neighborhood?

The boarder line was Putty Hill when I went to school in The 70's, I rode that bus to Perry Hall elem. middle and high school. The bus went through Belmont to Putty Hill to Buckschool House Rd. back to Belair Rd. befor I was even dropped off by St Joe's
What a long ride that was.

If one leaves the car keys inside the car and it is stolen, does the auto insurance respond to the claim?
