3,600 Gal Fuel Stolen From Bobby’s Pottys

Someone broke into and stole 3,600 gallons of fuel from the White Marsh business over the weekend.

A White Marsh business reports approximately 3,600 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen over the weekend, according to police.

Police believe someone cut the lock on a fence gate at Bobby’s Pottys, located on the 11400 block of Red Lion Road, sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.

The business owner told police the intruder covered the security camera with black plastic bags and that two industrial-sized plastic containers were loaded into a truck and the fuel was removed from the tanks.

The business owner estimated his total loss at $15,492, police said.

I'm sure Bobby's not laughing! I'm afraid we're going to see more of this happening.

@ April If this keeps up we may have to go back to locking gas caps. However, with the new cars, they too will cost more.

JP you are most likely right on that. Not easy to move that much fuel without a plan. Deisel fuel can also be used as heating fuel but that happens in the winter. Maybe some rogue truckers for this time of the year.

This is just another way a small business owner struggles to remain in business with theft. I am hopeful that they can get a TIP as to who committed this crime.
Someone knows something. Do the right thing and come clean!
