$5K in Jewelry Taken in Baldwin Burglary

Police are investigating the June 5 home burglary.

A burglar made off with more than $5,000 worth of jewelry from a Baldwin home, according to police.

Between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. on June 5, someone entered a home in the 4900 block of Bart Allen Lane and removed items from a jewelry box in a bedroom. Nothing else was taken and no other areas were ransacked, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville police precinct.

There were no signs of forced entry at the home, Dorsey said.

Dorsey urged residents keep doors and windows locked during the day, and to set home alarms. Investigators do not believe the incident is part of a local trend.
