April 27: Perry Hall Commercial Revitalization District Community Meeting
Businesses in the zone would be eligible for loans and other assistance.
Baltimore County Councilman David Marks has announced a community meeting to discuss a possible commercial revitalization district in Perry Hall.
On April 27 at 6 p.m., in the library of Perry Hall Elementary School at 9021 Belair Rd., Marks and staff from the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development will answer questions about the proposed district. Marks encouraged business owners and community members to attend.
The revitalization zone would include all of the Perry Hall Square shopping center. It would extend along Belair Road, from Blakeley Avenue in the south to Minte Drive in the north. It would include Joppa Road, between Seven Courts Drive and Belair Road, as well as Ebenezer Road, from Belair Road to Yvonne Avenue, Marks said in a news release.
Businesses in the zone would be eligible for loans and other assistance. There would be no new taxes or fees, Marks said. This district would be the 14th of its kind in Baltimore County.
“Perry Hall’s business district does not just include larger firms, but also small, family-operated companies that serve one of Baltimore County’s most stable communities," Marks said. "I want to give businesses every tool possible to succeed."
Patch will provide ongoing coverage of the upcoming meeting, as well as the proposed revitalization district.
