Aug. 7: Perry Hall Neighborhoods Celebrating Crime Prevention
Perry Hall Farms, Wolsingham and Stillmeadow/Eastbrook plan to hold National Night Out events.
At least three Perry Hall neighborhood watch groups plan to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday night, Baltimore County police announced.
According to the event's national website, National Night Out is intended to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Police announced: "National Night Out is a great opportunity to stand up and show that you care about safer streets. Get together with your neighbors and friends, and think of innovative ways to show your support for law enforcement."

Frankly, I believe that we should all be on "patrol" all the time. We should all pay attention to our surroundings, our neighbors and our own....and report on anything that looks out of sorts. Be a good neighbor all the time!!!

I agree with Doug... I have great neighbors that look out for my HOA community, only to be called nosey... what the hell! I'd rather my neighbors know who looks suspicious or notice a new car in the neighborhood rather than not paying attention at all.

Victoria, I guess my family are also nosey neighbors. We are always looking out our door at all hours of the day. If something looks suspicious, we have called Baltimore County Police and taken the tag # of the vehicle. So far, no problems in our area.

Yea I feel my neighborhood is safer than most, though I did get a system just on the safe side. It just makes me sad that it's confused with "being nosy".
