Councilman Marks Announces Additional Road Resurfacing Projects
Five roads have been scheduled for repaving between 2013 and 2014.
Five more roads through Perry Hall have been scheduled for resurfacing, according to an announcement by Fifth District Councilman David Marks.
The five roads to be resurfaced are
- Snyder Lane
- Sandra Lake Road
- Sandra Park Road
- Glen Park Road
- Chapel Road
It was announced in 2012 that the one-mile stretch of Chapel Road would be getting a makeover. The entire project is scheduled for completion by fall 2014, barring delays due to inclement weather.
The estimated cost of the resurfacing totals $3.6 million.
"Since 2010, we have been able to resurface many of the major routes in Perry Hall, including Hines Road, Forge Road and a large section of East Joppa Road," Marks said in his release. "I am happy we could get these new routes added to the list. Despite cutbacks from the state government, Baltimore County has still found the resources to repair and resurface many of our aging streets in the Fifth District."
Dennis Robinson, president of the Perry Hall Improvement Association, expressed gratitude for the county’s prioritization.
"I am pleased to hear that additional roads in the Perry Hall area will be repaved," Robinson said in the release. "Although everyone has a wish list which usually includes his or her own street, I think Baltimore County has generally done a good job prioritizing infrastructure improvements, especially in light of the budget constraints."

I hope chapel Rd includes the intersection at Belair... When I make a left onto Belair from Chapel I feel like my car is falling apart (and it's a new car)...

Yeah, I agree. Going through the Bel Air ruts is very jarring there.

Maybe one of these days, hopefully, the worst road in Perry Hall will be redesigned and resurfaced.............Klausmeier Rd.

Does anyone know the VIP who lives on Dundawan Rd. who caused it to be resurfaced last year when it was already in wonderful condition?

They just did Chapel Road a few years ago. They need to stop the bus from running on that small road!

The issue with Klausmeier is fairly evident. This road is a major link between Seven Courts and Belair Road in addition of being a school bus route. I begged to have this road included in the Perry Hall Community Plan for major improvements such as drainage, side walks, better street lighting and widening. It fell on depth ears with the county due to cost. Eventually this road will need upgrading due to increase traffic. Until then, we 'kick the can down the road'

That is really true. Every time I drive on it, I worry about another car hitting me straight on. However it seems like fixing it would require taking away property from those homes there, and that never feels like a good idea.

Im happy that we are fixing our needed roads. How can i find out about the break down of the 3.6 million dollars? Not asking for a penny break down but something as i think this is a lot of money to patch some roads. I might be wrong but a break down can help out with that. Thanks.

What about Perry Hall Road , the part that leaves the wonderland of the mall. the part that goes to Rossville Blvd. you know, the road that was put in 25 years ago and the land was basicly stolen from the owner. the road is falling apart.

Kind of glad not touching klausmeirer might eliminate some of the 50 mph traffic on Gunview that no one wishes to do anything about because its a dead end collector street hard enough to get out of driveway

David Marks is a councilperson that really represents his district. I am under Todd Huff and never hear what he is doing in the interest of his district. He won't get my vote or monetary contribution next time around.

Klausmeier Rd needs major work. The road is barely wide enough for two cars and not designed to handle the amount of traffic from Seven Courts. There is drainage issues in the winter when the sump pumps from people's properties along the road dump water out and it freezes in the winter.
