Fallen Perry Hall Field Hockey Player Suffered Cardiac Arrest
Student athlete was listed in good condition the day after her collapse last week.
A Baltimore County official confirmed that the Perry Hall High School field hockey player who collapsed last week had suffered cardiac arrest, Explore Baltimore County reported.
County spokeswoman Elise Armacost had no further details on the student's condition, the article stated.
Breanna Sudano fell along the sidelines and was not breathing after her junior varsity field hockey team played Catonsville High School on Sept. 27.
Lindsey Springer, the varsity coach for Catonsville's field hockey team, told Patch that multiple parents and coaches rushed to the field to help perform CPR on Sudano.
Catonsville principal Deborah Bittner and athletic director David Lane said Catonsville junior varsity coach Christine Erlichman, one of the Perry Hall coaches and two parents with CPR training, administered CPR to Sudando. The parents were identified as Shelly Hunt and Melissa Law.
Sudano was transported to St. Agnes Hospital and later transferred to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
On Sept. 28, a hospital spokesman told Patch that Sudano was listed in good condition.
Perry Hall assistant principal Stephen Arnold said Sudano was "undergoing tests" last week to determine the cause of her collapse.
