UPDATE: Woman Killed in Kingsville Accident, Belair Road Reopened
U.S. Route 1 was closed between Honeygo Boulevard and Mt. Vista Road for about four hours.
UPDATE (2:05 p.m.)—A two-car accident Friday morning in Kingsville killed one and injured another, closing Belair Road for about four hours.
At about 10 a.m., an 85-year-old woman in a blue Cadillac pulled out of Sheradale Drive to make a left turn onto Belair Road. Her vehicle was then struck by a white Honda Civic, said Sgt. David Jansky, a Baltimore County crash team investigator on the scene.
The victim, identified as Anna Lorden, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Det. Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman. An adult male was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with serious injuries, Batton said.
Belair Road was closed between Honeygo Boulevard in Perry Hall and Mt. Vista Road in Kingsville between shortly after 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Pat.R....How DARE you be so insensitive and self absorbed at a time when families had to come together to bury their mother (and grandmother)!!! Are you really that self centered that when you see a traffic accident, all you can think of is the inconvenience YOU'LL have to deal with? Wow...ever hear the saying about "what goes around, comes around"?? Let's just hope that if you're ever involved in a tragic car accident that YOUR children won't have to read such insensitive posts. My prayers go out to the family of the woman who died...may she rest in peace.

I have lived in the neighborhood off of Sheradale Road for 30 years. It has become near impossible to pull out of this neighborhood onto Belair Road over the past few years. There is so much traffic coming in both directions and many of the cars are SPEEDING on Belair Road like it is a raceway. There have been 3 fatal accidents over the last few years of people trying to pull out of the neighborhood. I really hope something is done to correct this situation before another life is lost!!!

Pat - Nice to see you have taken this article about this tragedy and turned it into complaining of your inconvenience. Truly sad what the comments section of the Patch has become. Thoughts and prayers to the victims family.

God Bless the lost soul & prayers for the Injured.... Sounds like it would be much safer is one could only make a right turn from Sheradale Drive....

I used to work with a relative of the deceased, and I agree with the others, it is TOTALLY inappropriate to complain about traffic in this instance. Consider yourself blessed that you are alive to read this. I also agree that it is far too easy to speed on that stretch of Belair Road--I often find myself speeding without even realizing how much I have accelerated. If the police could monitor that stretch and set up traps, it would be much safer for everyone.

Thanks for your support to those of you who are so kind-- the victim was actually my mother-in-law so maybe those of you complaining of the traffic need to rethink your comments!
