Man Dead, Firefighters Injured in Baldwin Fire
About 80 firefighters from 20 units responded late Wednesday to the 5600 block of Sweet Air Road in the Jacksonville area.

UPDATE (Dec. 6, 10:32 a.m.)—A man died and firefighters were injured as emergency crews battled a heavy fire early Thursday at a home in the Baldwin and Jacksonville area.
The Baltimore County Fire Department, in a news release, identified the victim as 62-year-old William Spencer.
Around midnight, about 80 firefighters from 20 units in Baltimore and Harford counties responded to the fire in the 5600 block of Sweet Air Road, according to the release.
Firefighters were forced to evacuate the two-alarm fire due to the conditions. Two firefighters were injured—one was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center, the other to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview.
Because there were no fire hydrants in the area, additional crews assisted with shuttling in water from a nearby natural water source, according to the release.
An investigation into the cause of the fire continued Thursday morning.

How sad. Thanks to all our firefighters and police that put their lives at risk to help keep us safe. Prayers to the injured firefighters and their families along with the victims family.

I am so sad for this man and his little girl! They lost the mother to cancer just a few years ago. Now the little girl is all alone. Please pray for her. Her friends will be surrounding her now and forever- friend of the family

Dear DK, I am sure M did not intend anything but tremendous sympathy and caring for this little girl. I found your comment to be rude and uncaring. M is obviously grieving for this family, she disclosed nothing that won't be in the Aegis and did not identify anyone.
