First-Ever Apple Festival Coming Soon to Perry Hall

The festival is planned for Sept. 22-23 at Chapel Hills Farm & Nursery.

Pie-eating contests, kids' activities, crafts and more are just weeks away during Perry Hall's first-ever Apple Festival.

Planned between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday, Sept. 22 and Sunday, Sept. 23, the festival will be hosted by the Perry Hall Improvement Association and Chapel Hills Farm & Nursery.

More than 40 craft vendors and food vendors plan to participate. Contests, hayrides, children's activities and a live band are also planned. Admission is free. Children's activity tickets are $2 or 12 for $20.

More information is available on the event website.

PHIA President Dennis M. Robinson, Jr. released the following announcement:

I am looking forward to the Perry Hall Improvement Association’s first Apple Festival. This will be a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to get together and have a nice time. Let’s be clear about one thing—I don’t want to hear any complaints about the event being "small" or "simple" because those are our goals. Many of us often get caught up in technology and our fast-paced lives. This event provides an opportunity to take a step back in time to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends in a fun and slow-paced setting.

Audrey Burn deserves the lion’s share of the credit for organizing this event, which is based on a similar annual event in her hometown in Pennsylvania. I thank Chris Defeo for assisting Audrey with this event. I also thank Russell Berk, the owner of Chapel Hills Farm & Nursery for hosting this event. Russell and the folks at Chapel Hills Farm and Nursery are among the Perry Hall businesses that are the most supportive of the community.
