Gators varsity football defeated Franklin High School 24-14 Friday night in a game that started with a homecoming parade and ended with ice rain.

It was the last scheduled home game of the season. Perry Hall's playoff standing will be determined after they compete against Hereford on Nov. 4.

"Unless we get a miracle, this is our last home game. We decided to get out here and raise some chaos," said senior Patrick Clemons.

At halftime, the game was tied 7-7. Senior Mike Soper said strong defense carried the team to a win.

"Tonight we played as a family. ... We put in a hard week of practice and we came through big," Soper said.

Coach Keith Robinson said he's optimistic about the team's ability to compete in the playoffs.

"This year's team had a 'don't quit' mentality. It's a tough group of kids and they stick together," Robinson said.
