UPDATE: Hit-and-Run Suspect Vehicle Found in Harford County
An anonymous tip led police to the vehicle that struck and killed a woman along Seven Courts Drive in Perry Hall on Jan. 22.
Police received an anonymous tip last week that a white four-door Ford 500 sedan, believed to be involved in the hit-and-run, was seen in Harford County, according to Detective Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman.
Detectives found the vehicle on Feb. 1 and began conducting interviews, Batton said. The investigation into who was operating the vehicle when it struck 68-year-old Beverly Moore is ongoing.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on the night of the incident, a vehicle traveling southbound on Seven Courts Drive stopped to allow Moore to cross the street. A Ford 500 sedan then drove around the stopped vehicle, struck Moore and fled the scene, police said.
Following the incident, community members called for traffic calming measures along the busy roadway and neighbors of Moore held a vigil in her honor. Signs were also posted outside the nearby Weis Markets, encouraging anyone with information on the hit-and-run to contact police.
