Winners of the Honeygo Family 5k and 1 Mile Kids Run
Runners pounded the pavement Sunday morning in Perry Hall.
More than 100 area runners bundled up to participate in the Honeygo Family 5k and 1 Mile Kids Run Sunday morning. With the temperature hovering around 32 degrees, the event began with a warm-up sponsored by Brick Bodies at 8 a.m.
The 3.1-mile course included a lap around Honeygo Run Regional Park and stretched between Honeygo Boulevard and Joppa Road.
Overall male open winner was Alex Loper, 25, with a time of 17:18, followed by Adam Sierakowski, 23, with a time of 17:48, and third place Ethan Burbridge, 15, of White Marsh with a time of 18:33.
Overall female open winner was Elizabeth Lelonek, 15, of Baltimore with a time of 22:07, second place Bryanna Leyen, 13, of Perry Hall with a time of 23:11 and third place Phoebe Canoles, 10, of Baltimore with a time of 23:47.
Several Perry Hall residents also placed first in their age group including Maureen Preston, 38, with a time of 26:33; Gwyneth Lewis, 43, with a time of 24:06; Johnny Conrad, 25, with a time of 19:34 and Christopher Leyen, 44, with a time of 21:11.
The Kids 1 Mile Run had ten participants. Connor Chemelli, 11, of Bel Air won with a time of 6:15. Ananda Jagadesan, 11, of Perry Hall placed second with a time of 6:29, while Jennifer Thomas, 10, of Baltimore placed third with a time of 7:46.
Complete results of the results are provided by Elite Race Management. Runners were also treated to donated items from Chick-fil-A following the race.
