Chuck, I read a book on this very subject years ago. It was called, "FOR YOUR OWN GOOD". It dealt with how the logic you supposed came into being and how it affected at least 3 notable examples of people all know of. Teach your children in advance that the world is bad so they can be prepared. Among the notables was Adolf Hitler. I think we need to protect our children from wrong and wrongdoing until their little brains are wired properly. To children life should be a fairy-tale. Let them have good to use to mature. I believe the author of the book I mentioned is Alice Miller. Anyhow it was a good read and discusses your theory and how it came into being back in the 1800s. And how wrong it is.
