Man, Woman Charged in Perry Hall Home Burglary
Police arrested two suspects shortly after the June 10 burglary on Ayr Court.
UPDATE (June 11, 3:10 p.m.)—Police said they arrested a man and woman Sunday afternoon in Perry Hall, less than a half hour after a reported burglary.
Nicholas Frederick Florian, 30, of the 4400 block of Forge Road in Perry Hall, and Marisa Nicole Hatzidimitriou, 22, of the 9600 block of Gerst Road in Perry Hall, were each charged with multiple counts of burglary.
At about 1 p.m. on June 10, a homeowner in the unit block of Ayr Court, off Beaconsfield Road, told police she found a basement bedroom ransacked after hearing strange noises. An unlocked basement window had been opened, according to a police report.
The resident also noticed the garage had been opened and a light was on. She went inside, saw a man and yelled at him to get out. He and a woman then drove away in a blue Chevrolet. The victim contacted police and provided investigators with a vehicle description and partial tag number, the police report showed.
The resident later told police she noticed some of her property, mostly electronics, had been left in bags in her basement.
Within 25 minutes of the incident, police said they stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt at Perry Hall Boulevard and Lillian Holt Drive, with Florian and Hatzidimitriou inside. Police found several electronics and power tools inside the vehicle and arrested both suspects, according to the police report.
Florian was charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, as well as fourth-degree burglary of tools, fourth-degree theft and theft of less than $100. Hatzidimitriou was charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary, and fourth-degree burglary of tools, court records show.
Police are investigating to determine if the suspects have been involved in any additional burglary incidents, according to Lt. Ron Brooks of the White Marsh police precinct.
Residents are urged to keep windows and doors locked whenever possible and to report any suspicious behavior immediately to police by calling 911, Brooks added.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this article listed a Parkville block address for suspect Marisa Nicole Hatzidimitriou. This was the address originally included in the police report. Patch, however, has updated the article with a Perry Hall address that is listed on Hatzidimitriou's online court record.
