Its not burglary if nothing is taken..unusual things to steal..sounds like items the owners donated to goodwill..this isn't a story for the patch this is for the police blotter. And you already made a reference to these thefts before like the Pinedale hood.these reports sound made up by the owners.

At WalMart, there are a lot of construction storage containers there. It was tools of the contractor, probably.

There is also a rash of daytime breaking and entering in the Baldwin area of Harford County, just across the county line. Possible suspect vehicles are a white van with ladders on top and a small silver car all operated my white males.

PERRY HALL CITY!
Thank you to Patch for alerting those of us in Perry Hall about these robberies. We are on HIGH ALERT now. To all neighbors: please contact the appropriate police department to step up the patrols in Monkton, Kingsville, Perry Hall Manor and more.
EMILY: You do such a great job! How about an article with recommendations for protecting our homes and families--e.g., how to organize a neighborhood watch, how to best work with local law enforcement, always leave on lights when not at home, cut back shrubs that hide windows and doors, etc. Thanks for considering this suggestion.

A question for the community: do burglar alarm systems really deter burglars?

I feel that anything that will make someone less likely to chose YOUR home to break into is a reasonable investment. Most people take the path of least resistance. AFTER it happensyou feel stupid for not having it and I speak from personal experience.

If you own nice jewelry, don't leave it in your bedroom for this is the obvious place for thiefs to find it. Find an out of the way place it hide it. Learned this the hard way when my house was broken into 2 years ago and thiefs "cherry picked" what they wanted from the drawer. Also get some good security doors with dead bolts.

Thank you, clj, your information is very helpful. I'm sorry for your losses. An invasion of home, one's personal environment where you expect safety and privacy, is a terrible thing.

Always be alert for hired hands ib the neighbor hood-landscapers and such as they use day laborers paid by cash and are illegals; home improvement companies have replaced good tax paying men for the cheaper illehgals picked up on homedepot lots or eastrn ave--window companies are forfront in this trend. So always ask if laborers are bonded as many have stolen out of the homes or rturn later. I here the stories from my husband who is in the heart of home improvemnt. Don't hire the comapanies using illegals.

Thank you, Rosalie. Great information. I did let go a lawn cutter a few years ago because his hired help had a criminal record. I couldn't believe the business owner of this lawn cutting service actually admitted to me that he had hired an assistant with a record who was already messing up the lawn cutting work, not showing up for work, etc.

IF THATS THE CASE ROSALIE YOU SHOULD'NT BE EATING AT SERPICO ANYMORE. JUST TRY TO FIND OUT SOME INFO ON THOSE KITCHEN STAFF WORKING THERE. GO AHEAD, SINCE THE PATCH IS SO PROFESSIONAL, SOMEONE GO ASK THE SERPICOS OWNERS IF SHE CAN PROVIDE LEGAL INFO FOR THE BASTARDS THAT WORK THERE AND ALL LIVE 30 IN ONE HOUSE IN CHAPEL RD APARTMENTS
