UPDATE: Perry Hall TSA Agent Charged with Child Porn
Michael Scott Wilson, a federal worker, was arrested and charged last month.
UPDATE (2:07 p.m.)—A Perry Hall man was charged with promoting, distributing and possessing child pornography last month.
Michael Scott Wilson, 41, of the 9900 block of Redwing Drive, was arrested Sept 27. He was released on $25,000 bail the same day, court records show.
An investigator with Baltimore County's Crimes Against Children unit discovered files containing child pornography being shared on Sept. 12. Police linked the files back to Wilson, said Detective Cathy Batton, a county police spokeswoman.
Additional files were found on his laptop and desktop computers after police searched his home on Sept. 27, Batton said.
Wilson's neighbors said he is married with no children, according to a WBAL-TV report.
TSA spokesman Kawika Riley confirmed that Wilson worked as a Transportation Security Administration agent before this incident.
Riley released the following statement on behalf of the TSA:
TSA holds its security officers to the highest professional and ethical standards, and aggressively investigates allegations of misconduct. The allegations against this individual in no way reflect on the outstanding job our more than 50,000 security officers do every day to ensure the security of the traveling public.
Check Patch for updates.

ewww. Another shining star for the terrible and largely ineffective TSA program. You know, the gropers.
so I wonder if the people upset that Patch reported the PTSA thief's home address will similarly be upset that this guy's address is included.

The reason I questioned the PTSA thief story is that there was a teenager involved who was reportedly being made fun of at school because of the incident and I felt sorry for her. I felt that just because her mother made a bad choice, why should she have to suffer so much.
I am not as upset about the address in this situation because he a possible physical threat to young children and it could be useful information to parents with young children (like myself). The PTSA thief stole money, while still wrong, is not so much of a physical threat in my book.

He will be listed on the sex offender registry and his residence will be publicly disclosed from now on. Anyone can visit the sex offender website that the State hosts and see if there are child molesters in their neighborhood.

I don't understand why anyone would be upset. For one, the information included is public record and it would be a disservice if the Patch, or any news outlet, chose not to include it. Secondly, reporters are expected to report news without fear or favor. They can not air their personal prejudices and must be impartial and I think that goes both ways. They may not wish to publish the address but have a right, dare I say "an obligation", to report it since it is public record.

This the 10th TSA screener arrested this year for sex crimes, nine of which involved children. There have been 54 TSA screeners arrested so far this year for serious crimes with nearly three months left to go.
There are too many criminals in TSA and we must demand that these perverse practices be stopped. Who is protecting our children from these deviants?
Sadly this is the result when Government sanctions child molestation, sexual assault and strip searches in the guise of airport security.

and in more not so good news, this story/asshat just made it to the Drudge Report's website. Nothing like a national website viewed by millions of people daily associating Perry Hall with child porn...

It's a shame how people leave ignorant rants on the web and consider them options... That dude is responsible for his own actions, not the agency he works for. DUH!!!

The agency is responsible for who they hire. This isn't the first person in the agency found guilty of this.
Additionally, this policy is "random" pat downs doesn't make anyone any safer then they were before. It's just making wealthy folks wealthier, while the ignorant masses volunteer their personal rights and privacy in the name of fearmongering.

This is a federal violation and WILSON is subject mandatory minimums. Although Baltimore County charged him, the FBI could still prosecute this case. Not to minimize this violation but the mere possession of child pornography is subject to 5 years in federal prison. Penalties increase if a forensic examination reveal the distribution or manufacturing of child pornography. On release WILSON will be subject to lifetime supervision and register as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 sexual offender. This is incumbent on what WIlSON is convicted of.
