Gunpowder Elementary School students channeled their Ravens spirit into purple paper facial hair, à la quarterback Joe Flacco, on Friday.
But the pretend Fu Manchu mustaches were just one component of the school's pep rally.
At about 10 a.m., students, kindergarten through second grade, lined up, sang the Ravens fight song, chanted and cheered. Another rally with the older children was planned for the afternoon.
Fourth-grade teacher Michelle Manley, wearing a purple gown ("the only bridesmaid dress I've worn again," she said) and a feather boa, led the children through cheers she usually performs on the morning announcements.
Principal Christine Smith and Assistant Principal Christine Davis joined in with the kids.
"We have true Ravens spirit at the school and in this community," Smith said.
At the end, physical education teacher Jayne Donohoe assigned the children homework: "Watch the Ravens beat New England," she said.
How do you show Ravens spirit? Tell us in the comments.

Thank you to all the ladies who took and uploaded the additional photos. My son loved seeing himself as well as his friends. Looks like everyone had a blast. Gotta love the kids at Gunpowder! Big "thank you" to the staff that helped make this such a fun day for the kids. I can't believe you all were able to get Ms Davis and Mrs Smith in purple and sporting the Fu Stache! Go Gunpowder.....you guys rock!

My kids have long ago left Gunpowder, and I miss that place. We spent 12 years as Gunpowder parents for two daughters. Lots of spirit and fun times.

I don't know Ms. Manley, but she is awesome! The only bridesmaids dress I've worn again! Too funny!
