Perry Hall Crime: Men Assaulted, Shots Fired

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Perry Hall

Belair Road, 8400 block. At 1:02 a.m. July 28. Two men were assaulted by a man armed with a silver handgun. The victims drove to the location to purchase prescription drugs. After an argument, the seller punched one of them, then fired five shots from a handgun, striking the victims' vehicle. No one was injured.

Police have significant leads in the case and an arrest is expected.

Kingsville

Bradshaw Road, 8000 block. Between 7:10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. July 24. A Nikon camera with a zoom lens and flash, valued at $2,500, was stolen from a home office. The rear door to the home was forced open, allowing the burglar to get inside.

More gun laws, more gun laws… Oh wait, the shooter broke three or four in this incident alone, I doubt any of the charges stick. But we need more gun laws so he could have a fifth and sixth charge that will show up on case search as “nolle prosequi”.

"Men Assaulted With Handgun" - what image does that bring to mind before ready the story?

"Drug Dealer Pulls Gun On Buyers" - That tells what the story is about.

Journalists should report the news. Opinion goes on the Editorial Page, or in your blog.

Bruce you are right. They often use the term "gunman" a term that implies that anyone who operates a firearm is a potential criminal. The same happens when there is a car accident. If the car is an economy vehicle than they say "They 24-year old driver lost control of her vehicle." but if its one of those hated SUV than they say "The SUV hit three other people." This is the misinformation that is actually taught in journalism schools and demanded by editors.

I don't mean to sound rude here, but the men WERE assaulted with a handgun...

Come on Patch, the "seller" of "prescription drugs" "pulled a gun" and they only have leads? obviously this was not a pharmacy so the "prescription drugs" is a silly reference, hopefully the "victims" were arrested for buying drugs. (unlikely). Thanks Patch for allowing viewers to "patch" together the true story, fun stuff. hopefully the dealer doesn't know the address of his customer.

The Patch is very much PC! It is tiring and getting very old. "A person stole an item from a small one roomed object behind a place where humans dwell. We need leads and this is the news!" Just saying :0
