Over the past six weeks, more than a dozen businesses and community organizations have hosted benefits for Daniel Borowy, who was shot and injured in Perry Hall High School's caferteria on the first day of school.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, another benefit is planned at one of Borowy's favorite local restaurants—the Perry Hall McDonald's at 9106 Belair Road, across from Perry Hall Elementary School.

McDonald's management announced the "Dinner for Daniel" in a flier, which included the following:

"The store employees are many of Daniel’s friends and schoolmates. Everyone at McDonald’s is looking forward to a huge turnout . Please stop by for dinner and to give our neighbor, friend, and classmate your best wishes and support."

"Prayers for Daniel" bracelets will be sold for $2 each at the restaurant and 25 percent of all food sales will be donated to the Borowy family.

Following multiple surgeries, 17-year-old Borowy, a special needs student, came home from the hospital on Sept. 10 to continue his recovery.

On Sunday evening, he was joined by Perry Hall High School guidance counselor Jesse Wasmer, credited with stopping the shooting, in throwing the ceremonial first pitches before the first game of the Orioles-Yankees American League Division Series.
