Perry Hall Patch Turns 2, Still Growing
Thank you for two wonderful years, and hopefully many more.
What was I doing exactly two years ago?
We were knee-deep in a primary election, settling into a new school year, enjoying the new library and filling our weekends with festivals and concerts.
But, for the most part, I was just running around trying to convince Perry Hallers to read my website.
A lot of the responses I got sounded like this: "There's nothing going on here. What are you going to report on?"
For the past two years, I've carried those words with me, asking myself that same question over and over again.
The most surprising part of this job, since we launched Perry Hall Patch on Sept. 13, 2010, has been the huge volume of news and information produced by this community. I can hardly keep up with this fascinatingly active place.
Of course, born, raised and educated here, I should have expected it. There was always something special about Perry Hall—the pride residents feel in living here, its safe neighborhoods and charming history.
I really do love Perry Hall.
I want readers to know how immensely grateful I am for the support, story ideas, critiques, contributions, and, of course, the comments (love or hate them, they are fun to read).
I also can't thank you enough for liking Patch on Facebook and signing up for the daily newsletter. It's one of the best indicators we have that you're reading and wanting more.
My life has changed a lot over the past two years. I've gone from a Local Editor to a Senior Local Editor, I got engaged to the ridiculously attractive Steven Pope (who I even convinced to move from Baltimore to Perry Hall) and I've made a lot of friends.
But mostly, I think I can safely say, without a doubt, that there is a lot going on in Perry Hall.
How has Patch changed the way you interact with the community? Which stories have impacted you the most? Tell us in the comments.

Indeed, thanks for all of your hard work. It'll be unfortunate if the financial side doesn't work out on this project, it's been really, really useful for many of us.
Hope your neck's feeling better, too!

Emily, I am grateful for the community news you provide. The fact that you are from the area shows your love and enthusiasm, while still reporting the facts. You have informed us of news and stories that we would not have known about. Thank you very much and keep up the great work.
