On May 16, County Councilman David Marks and Kimco Realty announced that Giant Food will replace the former Perry Hall Superfresh, which had closed in July 2011.
The announcement drew a passionate response from the community, here on Patch, also on Facebook.

Mars is too small, Safeway is too expensive, Weis is just plain bad. I like Shoppers, but will also deal with Giant. They are probably more expensive than the others I named, but they are always clean and organized and have good service.

I won't shop at any grocery store that has a "club card". They just mark up the price to some ridiculous amount, and then sell it to you at the proper price if you show your card. Does anyone ever wonder what they do with all the private data they are collecting on your purchases?. I only shop at Mars.

Would have preferred Trader Joe's or Wegmans, but I do like and will shop at Giant. I would love a Kohl's in Perry Hall too!

Me too! I'll probably only shop at Giant if they have more organic/healthy products than the other local grocery stores.

How about about Harris Teeter? I hear Wegman's maybe coming on Campbell Blvd across the street from Target. The large open field.

We like Giant...find them clean and with helpful and friendly employees! We would also like to see a Cracker Barrell in this area. Think it would go over well!
