The death of Mark Falkenhan, a 43-year-old Lutherville firefighter who perished in a Parkville fire in January, has inspired several awards and memorials across Baltimore County.

On Monday evening, Falkenhan was again honored with a $500 donation by the Perry Hall Improvement Association to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company

"We appreciate the hard work and sacrifice by the members of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company to help protect the community," said Dennis M. Robinson Jr., president of the PHIA, who presented the donation. "Residents of the Perry Hall area are safer because of the dedication of these hometown heroes."

Lt. Jack Amrhein of the Baltimore County Fire Department, who acts as the PHIA's Public Safety Liaison and volunteers at the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company, helped coordinate and present the donation. He was joined by Senior Lt. Kevin Palmer, Capt. Rick Blubaugh and President Donald Wilder, EMT, who accepted the donation on behalf of the company.

On behalf of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company (WMVFC), I would like to thank the Perry Hall Improvement Association (PHIA) for their donation. Contributions from community organizations, as well as area residents and businesses, are a vital source of income which support the operating costs of a volunteer fire company. Again, thank you for your continued support.
