Christopher Dolon proves you don't need a finely manicured golf course to work on your swing.

Dolon, a youth pastor at Hunt Valley Church and a graduate of Perry Hall Christian School, recently brought his club out to the Gunpowder Falls State Park.

The outing was part of a mentoring program he is involved in—and he was sure not to leave any golf balls in or around the river, Dolon said.

What's your favorite thing to do down by the river? Tell us in the comments.

Our daycare provider takes my children to the Gunpowder River often. They love it. They love climing the rocks and getting their feet wet. They saw a little snake the other day and told me all about it.

Jerusalem Mill is another great place for the kids to explore.

This the depth that golf for the local residents and many others, has come to. When you shut down a golf course like Gunpowder Falls and not even allow possible golf entrepreneurs to lease the property from the County, then one is reconciled to splashing golf balls in wet Gunpowder Falls. Fun it may be, but golf it ain't!

I hope he was not using his dad's clubs. I agree with Mr Mckenna, the closing of Gunpowder Falls was a bit mistake after the County pumped a lot of money into
it. It also took away Perry Hall High Schools course for the Golf Team.
Now what are they doing with the land.

My son played for the PHHS golf team and never got to use that . The team had to drive long distances to practice on a course. What a waste of our tax money.
