Getting a head start on Thanksgiving or just taking a stroll?
I spotted this herd of wild turkeys outside my house on Friday morning. It was a first for me, and I can only imagine, a little unusual for the Perry Hall area. But then again, I live right near the hunting-free Gunpowder Falls State Park.
I walked closer and closer until some raptor-like gobbling shooed me away.

lol This reminds me of one time when I was leaving work early in the morning and I turned onto Bel Air road (at Honeygo) only to almost hit a huge turkey just wandering around in the middle of the road. Less scary than the time I almost hit a cow though...

Pretty cool - I saw a rafter of turkeys in GFSP near Dundawan Rd early last spring. A little green space goes a LONG way! We need to continue to preserve some large connected tracts of land and the wildlife will come.
