Schoolchildren by the hundreds took their marks, got set, and ran a series of races around Gunpowder Elementary on Wednesday afternoon.
The cross country meet included students from Gunpowder, Kingsville Elementary, Perry Hall Elementary, St. Ursula School, St. Joseph School and St. Stephen School.
It was the first of four planned multi-elementary school races.
