Dog gone bad. Where are his parents?

What I don't appreciate is trying to run on the track and someone allowing their dog a ten foot lead across the entire walkway, slowing everyone down or allowing the dog access to my children, slobbering on their clothes and jumping on them. If pet owners want to be welcomed and appreciated, simple common courtesies should be observed. I expect my children to be well behaved and mind their space and manners in public and I expect pet owners to do the same.

PerryHallParent - Well what I don't appreciate is parents who let their children run over to my dog, grab her, her leash, etc. without asking, as well as throw rocks and mulch (Yes, I have had this happen as we stood resting on the sidewalk). I would never let my dog go to any dog or human without asking first. EVERYONE (dog owners, parents, runners, etc.) need to be "well behaved and mind their space and manners in public".

I think what DGAF meant about "not walking single file" is that OFTEN you will be walking in one direction on the path and a group of people (obviously together) coming the opposite way will not move behind one another to let both directions pass. It's as if they think because they have more people, they "get the path"!!!

I think the lack of common courtesy and respect for others is the bigger issue. Everyone needs to remember they all have a responsibility when out in public, whether it's to control a pet, child or ones self.

There is a large grass area below the soccer field where many people take their dogs. Why not prohibit people from taking their dogs, people roller blades and bikes from the walking path. There is an adequate play area for the kids. And the large grass area should be turned in to a dog park. People's who are trying to get or stay in shape should be protected. Thank you!

haha thats laughable i dont think any of you go there , plus the fact that they didn't have the lights on last night at 6pm is ridiculous.

One time, a kid knocked my walkman off my hip as I rollerskated around the path.

Unruly dogs are a concern and a reason I wish the proposed dog park had another location. I'm a walker, and I have been on the track a number of times when people with dogs encounter other people with dogs or just someone interested in talking about their dog and they stand in the middle of the track. I stay to the right to let runners go by - people who stop should get off the track. People using the track for its intended purpose shouldn't have to risk twisting an ankle to run/walk off the track to avoid those who shouldn't be there in the first place. Runners shouldn't need to go to the high school track to run; they'd already be there if it was convenient. It should be a multipurpose track. But it is annoying when unattended kids or dogs and their owners become a hazard to people walking/running on the track. Let common sense and courtesy prevail. It's a little like this forum, where some of you should exit because you aren't serving any useful purpose.

What a lot of silly complaints over nothing. I am so happy to see children, older people, DOGS, and happy people using this lovely little park.
