Police: Man Eats, Drinks, Runs From $78 Perry Hall Harp Bill
Police arrested a man who allegedly ran from The Harp in Perry Hall without paying.
The Harp in Perry Hall wasn't about to let a customer get away without paying Tuesday night—police said staffers chased down a man who refused to pay for a large meal.
Kenneth Vernon Lee, 24, a Lusby resident, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 30, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville police precinct.
According to police, starting at about 9 p.m., Lee entered The Harp at 8706 Belair Road and began ordering food and drinks. He attempted to pay for the food using credit cards, which were all denied. He then left the restaurant and returned, ordered more food, and attempted to pay with another credit card. Restaurant staffers found that the credit card had been reported stolen. Lee then allegedly ran out of the restaurant without paying his $78.43 bill, according to Dorsey.
Staffers chased Lee from Belair Road to Blairwood Road. Police also responded and sprayed him with pepper spray before arresting him near Perry Hall Apartments, Dorsey said.
No serious injuries were reported during the chase, he added.
Investigators found that the stolen credit card belonged to a person who formerly worked with Lee at the Wendy's, adjacent to The Harp. Online court records show that Lee is a former Nottingham resident.
How would you react if you saw a restaurant customer do this? Tell us in the comments.

I was a bouncer at a bar - you put yourself at risk for $7/hour. When you get older, you say to yourself, "What was I thinking!!!!!"

I'm guessing you worked at Raffy's before it was The Harp. The clientele is normally wonderful! This was a surprise to us all. ps. We do still have security on Friday and Saturday nights, mostly to card guests for the bartenders and we do NOT pay them 7.00 an hour.

Another example of what happens when they keep letting this trash out of jail. He obviously hasn't learned a thing from his multiple arrests and will continue to be a nuisance to society each time they let him out. He needs to be kept in jail for a long time or in a mental health facility until he learns that his behavior is unacceptable in society. Otherwise, the cycle will continue.

That's actually not surprising. Fairly easy to escape and be 'lost' within seconds. This plus folks being morally bankrupt...sad combination.
