Vandals Paint Racial Slur on Seven Courts House

Police believe teenagers randomly targeted the area.

Police are increasing their presence in a Seven Courts neighborhood following several reported acts of vandalism.

Shortly after midnight on May 5, a homeowner in the unit block of Sylvan Park Court discovered a racial slur had been spray-painted on the side of the house. The homeowner had heard male voices outside the house, but saw no one, according to Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville precinct.

Several other homeowners in the area also reported spray paint on mailboxes, Dorsey said.

Police do not believe any of the homeowners were targeted, but that the vandalism was likely left randomly by teenagers, he said.

Police are increasing patrols and community outreach efforts in the neighborhood, he added.

I feel bad for these teenagers today. They don't have anything to do, so they resort to this sort of vandalism. If only they had something to keep them busy, like library books, or conversations with their peers, movie nights with peers/parents, a night of bowling, dodgeball at Beachmont, jobs, after-school activities, etc. Sadly we have taken all of that away from our youth today.

I see alot of kids of different ethnic groups hanging out all the time in our area. to me that says the majority of the teenagers are not " racially minded"

That's exactly why I said we need a teen center/Rec built next to the library, NOT more homes. The county and state should be ashamed of themselves. Go ahead greedy builders, build some more homes. Create more traffic, more people to overcrowd the area. I'm sick of it all. Our politicians aren't doing jack to improve our community. Totally fed up.

This is ridiculous! Chances are the brats prob live in the neighborhood themselves! And are making they're own neighborhood look trashy. I hope that some other random group of hood rats do the same thing to those who did it first. See how they feel when someone vandalizes they'r own family's home!

I guess this makes you grateful for the "GAY=OK" art, right? Check out that "case" through "perry hall patch" The "media/police" try to describe promotion of a positive message and uplifting agenda as: "a hate crime" If you haven't learned anything from "gay teen suicides" or newly bigoted NC (state laws) maybe this message/comment will open your eyes. Numbers are increasing (In street artists, gays, races, religions, transgender population etc). and there is nothing you country folk can do about it. Commenting on this message board is a contradiction and waste of time. If you want something done right, do it yourself...get up off your fat, lazy, American asses and continue where the Beatles left off.
