Patch Readers' Choice

UPDATE (April 29)—With Mother's Day quickly approaching, readers helped narrow down the best place to get flowers in Perry Hall.

And the winner is ...

Perry Hall Florist at 4401 E. Joppa Rd. with 50 votes.

"We do excellent work and offer quality service. Our customers are very important," said Kathy Sanner, who owns the 50-year-old family-run business with her husband, Ken.

A reader left the following review under the business' listing on Patch.

Our family has used Kathy for years and have always been extremely happy with our orders! From wedding flowers to mothers day and anniversaries, its always been great working with this florist. Also, Sanner's has a great Christmas treat for kids as well, each year they set up a life size Candy Land for patrons to bring the kids to. They can play, get treats and make a cute ornament to take home! Such great people!

Perry Hall Florist has also recently been recognized as one of Baltimore's best by The Knot and has received the Bride's Choice Award from Wedding Wire.

During last week's contest, The Flower Cart at 9644 Belair Rd. came in a close second with 45 votes.

UPDATE (April 23)—You've gotten a little too old for gluing macaroni to a cardboard picture frame—but that doesn't mean you should give up on Mother's Day gift giving entirely.

How about a nice bouquet of flowers? This week on Patch (leaving you plenty of time to prep for May 13), we're looking for the local florist who does it best.

Here are a few of our area favorites. Did we forget your favorite shop? Be sure to suggest it in the comments.

What about Coker's Florist? Not only do they have fresh flowers but they support the community!

None of them. Sadly, I've gotten better flowers from Safeway then any of the local florists I've tried. It's sad, this area's florists pale in comparison to the ones I had access to in my previous location of Richmond.

The real question is, which bear is best? Bears, Beets, Battlestar Gallactica.

My first reaction would be black bear, but that's a ridiculous question. There are basically two schools of thought...

Bears eat pretty much whatever they want.

So if the bear is at my tent, looking very hungry, I should have beets at the ready!?

Absolutely. I always camp with beets- or rhubarb, in a pinch.

Congratulations to the Perry Hall Florist. Kathy and Ken are wonderful, caring people. She knows her customers and what they require when they come in to order. I feel like one of the family they way I am treated. Did a wonderful job on my son's wedding flowers and for my brother's funeral and all ocassions.
