UPDATE: Perry Hall Trespasser Dies After Shooting Self in Head

A shooting occurred on Monday afternoon on Bellfalls Way in the Seven Courts area of Perry Hall.

UPDATE (June 5, 3:19 p.m.)—A man, who entered a Perry Hall home and shot himself on Monday, died early Tuesday, according to police.

Robert James Blair, 39, entered a home in the unit block of Bellfalls Way on Monday afternoon and suffered a "self-inflicted gunshot wound" to the head, according to Detective Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman.

At about 12:47 p.m. on June 4, a woman entered her home in the unit block of Bellfalls Way, noticed a man inside, and immediately left the house and called 911, Batton said.

Police have not discovered how Blair entered the home, as there were no signs of forced entry. A court order also restricted the man from entering the property, according to Batton.

When police arrived, they found the man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The medevac helicopter landed in a nearby field at Seven Courts Drive and Plantagenet Circle and transported the man to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to Batton.

Blair died at about 1 a.m. on June 5, while being treated in Shock Trauma. His cause of death will be determined by a medical examiner, Batton said.

UPDATE (June 4, 3:39 p.m.)—A man entered a Perry Hall home without permission and shot himself in the head on Monday, June 4, according to police.

The unidentified victim—a male in his 30s—survived, but was severely wounded, according to Detective Cathy Batton, a Baltimore County police spokeswoman.

For instant updates, follow Perry Hall Patch on Facebook and Twitter.

At about 12:47 p.m., a woman entered her home in the unit block of Bellfalls Way and noticed a man had entered the house without her permission. There were no signs of forced entry and the homeowner knew the man. She immediately left the house and called 911, Batton said.

When police arrived, they found the man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The medevac helicopter landed in a nearby field at Seven Courts Drive and Plantagenet Circle and transported the man to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore around 1:30 p.m., according to Batton.

Police are investigating possible charges against the man, she added, but have not yet released his identity.

"It's like unbelievable," said a nearby neighbor, who declined to be identified. "When it happens this close to home, it's like, really?"

The neighbor said she did not hear a gunshot and she had met the victim before, but did not know him personally. She said investigators remained on the scene as of about 2:30 p.m. and were continuing to search for the victim's vehicle.

Sad to hear that no one close to this undentified man was able to assist him prior to taking his own life. Whether he was I'll, depressed, and effected by this poor economy or any other reason. Most people don't take people serious or they are just clueless as to what's really going on and how it impacts the victim . There are so many hotlines to help people when they are wanting to commit suicide. I really feel sad to hear this kind of news, I wish that what ever God chooses for him at this point will be. If he were to live, what quality of life would he have? Praying for him as well as his family and friends. On a personal note, check on your neighbors if you know that they be having a difficult times, reaching out to them could help save a life.

He doesn't seem to be dead yet so he hasn't yet "taken his life" and it doesn't even say this was a suicide attempt. It could very easily been something else. I hope he pulls through though.

Tim, I have a letter I received from man in Nigeria. Do you know anything I can do to verify the money he wants me to send him? He promises a big return. I trust him, I think.

Sometimes, as in these, it is very difficult indeed, so noted.

Mr. Blair, may you rest in peace. The perceived ultimate solution to a problem is almost always not a solution at all. Thanks Red for the info.

An hour ? He died at hospital 1:45am tuesday morning. I'll post the death certificate if it lends credibility. It doesmt matter if anyone believes I am his wife or not. I was there. I found him. I'm dealing with his family and raising his daughter. I only came here because so many had offered heartfelt sympathy and I was touched.

@ Anon May your grief be cloaked in God's loving embrace. I am sorry that no one could help him before this happened.

To all of those who feel overwhelmed out there, please find someone who can speak with you. Go online if you have to and good people will refer you.

Let us pray for all involved. Peace :(

Please make no assumptions about this terrible, horrible act. Don't question ANON - if it is his wife, she can post what she likes at whatever time she wants. We deal with things differently. I have known Rob for more than 25 years, this was a total and utter shock to those of us who knew him - we spoke to him just a few weeks ago and all seemed okay. We are totally devastated as I'm sure his wife is. Pray for her and the innocent child left behind.

You are so right. This is no joke. It is not political or anything. It's just a tragic story and a family that lost a father.
We must all take a break from our differences and be as human as we can be. I am sad for these people and wish nothing but better days ahead. Peace.

He was a WONDERFUL MAN and an EXCEPTIONAL FATHER. It is such a shame that his life was TAKEN from those who "TRUELY" loved him, Even if it was by his own hand. Those of us who KNEW him, "KNEW" that this is not something that he would have done. Surrounding circumstances FORCED his hand. And unfortunately all attempts to help him failed because he thought that this was his ONLY way away from the pain, dissappointment and TORMENT that had become his life. He will be DEEPLY missed by his TRUE friends and his REAL family.

No one has their hand forced to take their life and leave behind a 5 yr old child- he was lost and confused- between medication, loss of sleep, stalking skills he had shown, and a non supportive immediate family- he made a choice- sadly a child will grow up not knowing her Daddy- NO ONE forced him to leave this baby and pull the trigger ....
