That is just wonderful. Our houses are getting broken into - now people getting robbed at the banks. What a great area we live in.

@John, yes it has but not with such frequency. This has gotten progressively worse since the county opened up that Rt. 43 extension. The Perry Hall residents have to come together with the Precinct 8 and 9 and form a Neighborhood Watch to keep our Perry Hall safe, there is power in numbers!!! I refuse to give these criminals the power to make me feel afraid to come home and close my eyes at night, we can't GIVE them control of Perry Hall!!! WHO'S WITH ME?!?

Hey Susie, I think it has alot to do with the economy and job loss. People everywhere are hurting and frantic to save their homes and support their families.
I'm sure there are other reasons, no doubt.
A neighborhood watch is a great idea and I am all for it. I would be glad to be a part of drive thru watch.

@ Gary It also has a lot to do with people who don't feed the kids they have and just want money for their drug habbits. There are plenty of programs for people down in their luck. They do not have to steal. However, it costs a lot to keep a junkie going so they rob people.

Another problem is the gangsta culture that has kids rob people just as their initiation into their world. The media and music glories this crap too.

it has little if anything to do with the economy, most likely. As citizens, are we privy to how many jobs the thugs have applied for in say, the last 30 days? The thugs should get a 10 year minimum sentence. And the illegals taking the jobs should be exported, assuming it is the economy. Does Gary agree with this remedy?. And the do-gooders like Al and Jessie should go home and find a real job themselves, so any neighborhood watch can actually work (without the watchman getting beat up, and having no recourse).

Was this another punk kid? Running around with a gun!! Maybe we should start to prosecute the parents of these derelicts !!! What awful parents most of these kids have !! No excuse that's for sure but the parents should pay too. Why should we be the only ones paying for their brats terrorising the world !!

@ Maeve You have a great point. The parents should be held accountable for their minors. Just like they should also pay child support when their kids get someone pregnant as well. When it all costs $$$ the parents will think twice before letting their kids loose on us.

I wonder if this robber is a renter on some type of government subsidy. There should be a law, if you are convicted of a crime, you lose all your benefits, such as food stamps, housing subsidy, etc. If the robber is a minor, too bad. The guardian or parents have to be forced to take responsibility for their children. If people knew the consequences of their own or their families negative actions, just maybe there would be some changes.

I was going to use that machine that night. It could have been me that got robbed. Some of the break in have been minutes from me as well. I am truly concerned.

As a single parent who rules with an iron fist even now that my kids are 31 and 26, I strongly believe it has to do with upbringing. Up until the children become of age, the parents should be held accountable. It sickens me to hear excuses such as......I do not get any help from his/her father/mother......I've had to raise him/her alone.....I have to work, I can't watch them every second. If you plant the seed, talk to your children, love them unconditionally, lay down the rules, reinforce the rules and hold them accountable by teaching them for every action, good or bad, there is a consequence, you can succeed as a parent, single or otherwise. @Gary.....McDonalds, Wendys, Taco Bells are always hiring, if one doesn't pay enough, get another job!!! I did...My husband died of cancer 21 yrs ago, I worked one full time and 2 part times for years, I did what I had to do!!!

Instead of setting up speed traps all over the place, perhaps the police should do a little bit more patrolling.

I have lived in Perry Hall for 23 years. This was a wonderful place to live until people started taking advantage of the Move to Opportunity program, and receiving vouchers for section 8 housing in some of the local apartment complexes. I know that some people use section 8 housing as a temporary assist, but it seems funny that you see an awful lot of Lexus', Infinity's etc in the parking lots there. And the person in front of me in line at the store using SNAP benefits, spends $500, buys every junk food known to man, has more money left on the card, and then uses cash to buy a big screen tv. This is the culture of deceit which rasies children to not respect other people's rights anad property.
