The Harp Planning Kegs, Eggs, Music and Dancing for St. Patrick's Day

The weekend-long celebration at Perry Hall's Irish pub features outdoor festivities, drink specials and charity.

First and foremost, always drink responsibly. Get a ride. Take a taxi. Leave the keys at home. Know your limit.

The Harp, Perry Hall's only true Irish pub is setting the standard for how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Baltimore County.

Live music, drink specials, food deals, DJs, dancing and activities for the kids make The Harp the best place to get into the Irish spirit this weekend.

The weekend-long celebration begins Saturday at 1 p.m. with the opening of The Harp's outdoor party area. Locals, the Ernie Fowler Band, take the stage from 3 to 7 p.m.

DJ JC will keep the party going with dance music from 7 to 10 p.m. The party then moves inside for The Harp's Dance Party from 10 to close.

—And that's just Saturday.—

On Sunday, The Harp opens at 9 a.m. with a special $3.17 kegs and eggs breakfast. Also, $2 gets you Guinness Imperial pints, Bloody Mary's and/or Mimosas.

The tent will open again at 1 p.m., featuring The Rolex Band, who I'm told as actually performed for Vice President Joe Biden. The band goes on at 3 p.m.

Throughout the day The Harp will feature DJs, give-a-ways a fire truck and face painting and hair coloring for the kids.

Drink Specials:

  • $3 Harps, Killians Red, Yuengling, Guinness Black Lager and Jameson shots.
  • $4 Bud and Bud Light 16 ounce bottles, and Pickle Back shots. (Sounds gross. Are delicious. See photo)
  • $5 Guinness Imperial Pints, Car Bombs and Jameson Orange Crushes.

And don't forget to eat if you plan on drinking. The Harp will be offering a special St. Patrick's Day menu featuring reubans, corned beef & cabbage, shepherds pie, fish and chips, Irish bangers, apps, soup and more.

Have fun this weekend. Be safe. Don't forget to add your photos and videos to our Perry Hall Neighborhoods Gallery (Keep 'em clean). Also, write a review of The Harp.

Are they promising better food quality; and waitresses and bartenders that pay attention to the customer and are not flirting with other employees (slapping each other on the butt and giving massages and talking) or watching the games on TV?

If I wait more then 4 minutes to see a waitress of bartender... I leave!

Seriously, so much this. Last two times my wife and I came in.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one to experience this.

PHP: Thing is, I've been to the Tilited Kilt 2 or 3 times now both with and without my wife (it's a backup football watching location, when it's not on home TV and it's not practical for me to go to the downtown Giants bar).
The garb they wear honestly only is stare worthy the first time or two there. Besides, everyone knows the most attractive part of a woman is her smile, right? :)

Unlike the Harp, their food AND service is very good...and their beer selection is outstanding. Main drawback to TK is said beer (if you are like me, and drink craft/specialty beer) is crazy expensive. I mean I've never seen beer as expensive, save for stadiums. It's why I wouldn't go more often, mostly. Hard to get out of there under 50 bucks pre-tip whereas many other places I can always get out at around 30 and enjoy myself all the same.

My family always patronize Red Brick Station for their craft beers. In the bar area, the service is 1st class and their craft beer is priced right. Food is also very good and priced well too! Give it a try.

I think this joint needs John Tapper and "Bar Rescue" to save it.

Oh good! The Harp opens at 9am! Let's get a head start with putting those drunks on the road first thing in the morning. As a rule, our family stays home on St. Patrick's day in more recent years, unless it's to go back and forth to work. For some reason, people use the day as an excuse, almost an entitlement, to get drunk and put others at risk.

I also love how their drink 'specials' weren't really special. 5 dollar Guinness? I love how they word it as Imperial Pints - guess what, that's how they are always served - at every bar in existence. Seriously, what are those idiots charging normally?

Terrible management overall. It's too bad.

Other Tim - some people give numerous chances to these places because they want to support local establishments. Would it be better for our community if it closed and a liquor store open there 6 months from now? Ace Hardware had the worst service for quite some time, but it has been much better over the last 6 months.

OT: Where did I say I still went there? Haven't been back in several months.

I want to steer people away from this place, because I've never been to a place with such consistently poor service. I can't say the food was terrible though. The one time I actually got a server to come over and take care of us, the food was good.

It's easy to fix that place. Easy. Just takes a little more money and actually giving a crap. Clearly by the other reviews, they still don't.

When they first opened food was pretty good and drink prices and specials were good; but, it quickly went downhill a year or so after opening. Prices went way up, all the employees were kids or angry older people and it turned into a high school like atmosphere.

A friend and I chanced it during one of the Ravens playoff games this year, because the other great bars locally were already slammed and packed. The female bartender "seemed" completely high on something and was very slow and not very responsive. She gave me the wrong drink two times in a row and asked me if I still wanted it (twice)?

My drinks served wrong to me twice still stuns me: I asked the girl bartender for a Strongbow with a double shot of Myers dark rum in it. She gave me a Coors light with a shot of Captain Morgan in it (gross). The second time she gave me a Strongbow with a double shot of Goldschlager in it (Super nasty). This is a prime example of how the employees pay no attention to the customer... at all.

On a good note: Both the shepherds pie and burgers are really good, but really expensive.
