Two Charged in Perry Hall Royal Farms Construction Theft
Police responded to the Belair Road site on Monday.
Two Perry Hall residents have been charged with stealing metal from the construction site of the planned Royal Farms in the 9600 block of Belair Road.
Between 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 1, the construction site foreman confronted a small group of people who he witnessed loading 15 to 20 metal studs and other pieces of scrap metal into the back of a mini van, according to a police report.
The foreman recognized the metal studs from his site at the corner of Belair Road and Glen Park Drive, and said they had likely been removed over the weekend and hidden in some trees and shrubs. Upon the foreman's request, the suspects returned the metal to the site, before leaving the scene, police said.
The foreman reported the theft to police, who identified two of the people involved as Erin Louise Tanner Phillips, 32, and Gary Craig Miller Jr., 36, of the same address in the 4200 block of Chapel Road, according to police.
They were both arrested on Monday and charged with drug possession and theft of less than $1,000, police confirmed.
Both suspects are being investigated in additional area thefts, according to Capt. Michael Balog of the White Marsh police precinct.
Baltimore County police have not yet released booking photos of the suspects.

If I was the business(es) directly behind this new Royal Farms, I would put in a security system now. You won't be able to see them from the road, thus, more robberies.

One of the Tanner sisters strikes again, I'm shocked... If you are missing something from your garage or construction site, you may want to check with them first. Like the poster said, check them out in the court database. I have no idea why the justice system lets people get dozens of "second" tries before actually doing something with such individuals, I guess because they usually go for low value targets they escape any hard time. And for those that would label this post as libelous, just lookup Erin or Lauren Tanner. Truth is the ultimate defense to libel or slander.

It's really sad that you can't leave anything out anymore, not on a construction site not in front of your house. If it's not chained down, losers like these (2) think it's up for grabs. They look like total trash. It really is the fault of the court system; why not keep stealing and buying drugs when you never really have any consequences. It's pathetic.

Believe me we have all tried to help my cousins with their addiction for years. Most have washed their hands clean a long time ago and the rest of us still have nightmares of when we are going to bury the twins from overdose. If the justice system fails again please someone call "Intervention". As embrassing as this is for our family, remember that addiction can happen to anyone. Please get your family members help and support them but don't be an enabler to the addiction. I hope this is rock bottom.

Its a real shame that Erin and Lauren have taken this path. People need to stop enabling them and let them hit rock bottom. They have been stealing from family, friends and neighbors for years and continue to come out looking like roses. Their friend Craig lived in the woods behind Safeway...no doubt Perry Hall would be a safer place if they were behind bars.

If you have lived in PH for some time-- you would know the "Tanner " Family--- they dont live in "section 8" --- animals--- humm -- I guess you could call a few of them animals-- Very dysfunctional bunch--- lead by an enabler! ...
And the court system--- what a joke! that whole bunch has been in and out of trob--- maybe the system needs to be looked at, as an "enabler"--- yes it's a shame to see what drugs have done to them--- it's also a shame they are never held accountable ---

Don't worry, we have speed cameras and cops standing around with radar guns to get the REAL criminals. Fear not, Perry Hall! Everything is under control. I just chuckle to myself when I see situations like this. The courts are a joke and so are the laws.
Blaming drugs is just as much enabling them as the courts do. They should have been ordered to drug treatment long before now, but I'm sure they'll get off again on some technicality, but don't worry. Speed cameras and radar guns. Cops got the "real" problems nailed down and they don't mess around with traffic violations. lol
What a joke this country has become. Justice system my azz.

Stop bashing a family who's roots in this community are far and long been a pillar of PH. Its an American tradgedy in ever sense, but for people to attack an entire family because of the mistakes of one is not fair, and unamerican, our civil liberties condemn this sort of behavior. You all, and you know who you are should be ashamed of yourselves, blasphemizing people while hiding behind your PC. I support the Tanner family in there time of crisis, as you should, imagine it happened to your family. Cm

I respect your bravery you cant blame the entire family thats for sure. its stealing and thats wrong they are hooked on drugs right ? they have to go to re-hab. and turn their lives around, I say we dont give up on these two as not -savable I usually dont have much sympathy for those who use hard drugs ( get real skinny and boney looking ) but then sometimes people like you who speak up make me realize its not easy to get off of them huh? at least they're not violent the violent people are the ones that belong locked up.

You all need to mind your own business! The parents to Erin and Lauren are good people! They have had to deal with more tradegy then any one of you ignorant people probally have had to deal with! With the loss of their oldest son to some drunk driven, cocaine usen asshole and the loss of their 3 month old grandson to SIDS I think they have been through a lot without having to read all your stupid freaking comments about them!! So again mind your own business and deal with all your petty little problems and let them deal with this!

While I did comment here about someone's mentioning the suspects were two men, I do believe that bringing parents into this without knowing anything about the family is a bit overboard. Unlike the Gladden boy's family, with a known drug and violent history, we don't know anything about this family. For all we know, the parents of these children may have done all they could until these two reached adulthood. There is only so much you can do, even if you've tried your best to be good parents. You can't always fight drug addiction and once kids reach adulthood, helping them can often be out of your reach. I have had my own share of repeated tragedy and it would be hard to be judged for something else.

I agree that bashing the whole family is going overboard, but this Erin woman has a criminal history for theft, credit card theft and then making charges to that credit card and some bizarre traffic cases such as improper passing, driving the wrong way on a one way street and failing to drive on the right side of the road? It doesn't matter what tragedies their parents went through, what matters is Erin is a criminal, so she makes her problems other people's problems as well. That's why this article was put up. If she wasn't a thief, everyone would mind their own business. Erin drew this attention to herself by breaking the law; she made it everyone else's business. Don't blame everyone else when they have something to say about it.

I speak for the family when I say this... We have tried over and over and over again to help her. We have put her in rehab many times. The family has tried all we can. She is an addict. Underneath all of these drugs, she is such a good woman. With that said, yes she needs to deal with the repercussions of these criminal acts. Under the influence, she is a threat to our society and that is why this article was in the patch...... Our family can only do so much. I am glad people are putting their opinions out there about her actions. The family has tried. Maybe embarrassment and jail will be rock bottom and after years of abuse and heartache, she will open her eyes and actually want to get better. I did not want to post anything on here, but being part of her family, we are 100 percent an innocent victim to this tragedy and please keep your nasty comments to yourselves....

Great post. Some people just can't be helped. Generally speaking, you have to WANT to be helped. Just because the rest of the family is 'good' doesn't mean they can just magically straighten out their grown adult children.

Just wish she would get the help needed along with her sister. The family needs help in learning to "be done" with them until they are clean and sober. Sorry for the lose the entire family has had to go through with.... But every family has problems and issues. Just sad that 2 people you grew up with and were involved with in sports turned out this way. Hope after jail time they get all the professional help they need.

Sounds like a solid case for AA, sure going to jail will keep them off the streets but when they get back out of jail you will still have the same people with the same alcoholic addict issues and nothing will have changed from with inside. From experiance I would hope that they would be able to attend a few meetings, while not judging and be open minded enough to hear a message that could possibly save and change their lives from someone who has been just where they are if not worse... There are meetings everyday with in 5 miles of every direction of Perry hall MD and for anyone suffering like these two this is the only way to get better and fortunately for them there is such a program that exists and maybe one day they will have the gratitude in which I have found from such a blessing this program really is for people with addiction and alcoholism. This is the only proven way to overcome addiction while becoming happy at the same time. You can go to all the Rehabs in the world and be inpatient for a solid year but the reality is when you are not institutionalized and back to real life how are you going to maintain sobriety and peace of Mind! Thank God for AA and all the 1000's of lives that have been saved and restored from this simple FREE program..

I have said it before and it bears repeating here. Bring back the same kind of prison camps like you see in the movie "Cool Hand Luke" and lock up these kind of people there are work them to death from early in the morning until they are ready to drop from exhaustion in the evening, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Take them out in chain gangs sweep up the streets, gathering dead leaves and fallen twigs, picking up trash along the interstates, etc. so that others who are even considering commiting similar offenses will think twice about it. This will result in one of two things happening. Either they will wise up, sober up, and become useful and productive law-abiding citizens or they will move to another state where their shenanigans will be tolerated by those less inclined to put the punishment back in prison. Either way, we will be rid of their problems.
