Vintage Perry Hall: Blacksmith's Shop
Check out this historic photograph, courtesy of the Baltimore County Public Library.
This photograph, which predates the turn of the 20th century, shows a blacksmith's shop on Belair Road in Perry Hall.
Taken in 1890, the photo shows a group of men outside Pillhofer's Blacksmith Shop, which was located in the 9600 block of Belair Road, according to an entry in the Baltimore County Public Library's catalog.
The catalog also says that owner John Pillhofer owned over 48 acres of land in the Perry Hall area.
The former blacksmith site was sold in 1912 to the Dietz family.
A Maryland Historical Trust document, attached to this article, details the history of the property.

That would place it at the present day Safeway Gas Station. Cool!

Love the history. There are many more vintage photos of Baltimore & the surrounding area on the Facebook "Charm City Vintage Prints" page. People post new ones almost daily. This would be a great addition.
