A burglar smashed the window of a Kingsville home to reach a purse, police said. 

At about 6 a.m. on Jan. 6, in the unit block of Wesley Woods Court, a homeowner heard a crashing sound. The homeowner later found that a window in the rear dining room had been shattered to create a large enough hole to reach in and remove a purse from a dining room chair, Officer Mark Dorsey of the Parkville police precinct said. 

The investigation into the burglary is ongoing, and does not appear to be part of a larger trend, Dorsey said.
