THE AVENUE at White Marsh will continue our community goodwill efforts by donating all fountain coins collected during the month of January to the Polar Bear Plunge. Since we felt strongly that through our customers and merchants we would be able to accumulate in excess of $500, we have committed a donation of $100 each to five Special Olympians to assist them in meeting their fundraising goals. Ben Collins, Erica Wheeler, Joe Wu and Josh Smith will be Super Plunging and braving the icy waters once every hour for 24 hours! If we are able to surpass the $500 mark – we will simply forward a check for the additional funds to Special Olympics.
So, pull together some change and let your coins take the PLUNGE for you!
In addition, I, MYSELF, have stepped up to the crazy challenge and will also be taking the plunge into the icy Chesapeake Bay waters this year, sponsored by my awesome employer, Federal Realty Investment Trust property owner of THE AVENUE at White Marsh! If it’s any donating incentive, I have already (entirely non-intentionally) recruited a large group willing to be on-site documenting my FULL PLUNGE with photos, videos, the works. It’s looking like I’m not getting away with a wimpy half-dip in those subzero waters!
If you would like to Sponsor Me and aid in my pursuit to raise as much money as possible for Special Olympics, you can donate online at my webpage here http://plunge.kintera.org/2013/brittanyhood.
REMEMBER: No donation is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated!
.... and yes. I WILL be wearing my polar bear outfit!

I hope you don't run into any male polar bears at this event. You will hear all of the pick-up lines like, "I know where the fish swim around", and "Nice claws". Don't fall for them!
