As a watched the Fox 45 Morning Edition this morning preparing for my day a story came across that made me stop and listen.
Maryland is in the process of adopting a new program statewide that will scan our licence plates as we go along a daily travels. It's not that most of us have something to hide. It is a thing of someone always having having eyes on us and tracking us all the time.
The claim is that the cameras are used for finding people with outstanding warrants, suspended licences, etc. I'm not so sure that is the real goal. The story tries to tap into our emotional side and get us to believe that these cameras really will do the job they are set forth to do. Unlike the school and zone cameras that remain on after the time that was prescribed during their introduction. I'm not sure. What do you think?
Will the use of these cameras help our neighborhood, simply waste tax payer money or act as just another nosey neighbor?
