Perry Hall High School’s Indoor Track Team is off to a fantastic start this season. For the first time in years, on Tuesday, December 18^th, the Girl’s Team was recognized by the Baltimore Sun in the Metro Top Ten at #10. And for a Christmas present on Tuesday, December 25^th both the Girl’s and Boy’s Team were listed Girl’s moved up #8 and Boy’s #10. These spots were well earned. Led by a strong corps of seniors/juniors and a fantastic influx of sophomores/freshman, both teams have dominated their first two meets.

Yesterday our Varsity Team went to a multi-state meet at the PG Sports Complex. We were down there from 9 am to almost 8 pm. We didn’t run away with the top spots, but our athletes did great with their times, heights and distances. And to our Coach’s great big thank you for taking the time to see that our athletes are able to experience such a meet.

What can I say; this group of Athletes gets very little recognition, yet continues to thrive. Most of their peers consider track & field a non-sport. Yet track has everything that other sports have. It takes a lot of physical and metal training, strategy and timing execution.

Next up, Baltimore County Relays, and yes every event has a relay including hurdles, pole vault, shot put and high jump. It’s a fun time for all the athletes. Perry Hall if you see a student wearing their track sweats or shirts please congratulate and encourage them.
