Making friends was so much easier when you were in school, living with roommates, or not stuck working 60+ hours a week. But times have changed, perhaps cities have changed, and even your “relationship status” on Facebook might have changed. The reality is that life moves quickly and the older you get, the harder it becomes to make new social acquaintances. It is with that in mind that G.O.A.L. was created, forming the first co-ed social sports league based in the Perry Hall/White Marsh area. G.O.A.L. is looking to replicate the success of other adult social sports leagues in Maryland and around the country, as participation in these activities is at an all time high. Beginning on June 16G.O.A.L. launch its first season of the year with everybody’s favorite recess sport, kickball.
G.O.A.L. was established to bring adults in the community over the age of 21, together with fun and easy sports from their childhood. In addition to creating an active and social co-ed sports league, G.O.A.L. is also committed to supporting the local businesses that have teamed up with Game On Events, Inc. and the Perry Hall Recreation & Parks Council to bring you G.O.A.L.
The league will be playing their games weekly on Saturday’s between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Perry Hall Middle School. Teams will be comprised of a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 18 players and all teams must be co-ed. Individuals or groups of fewer than 12 will be matched with others to form a team. The registration fee for kickball season is $60 per player and includes team jersey and special discounts from sponsoring local business that will only be available to the G.O.A.L. participants.
If you are interested in joining G.O.A.L., meeting new friends, and being active this summer, there will be an open house at Perry Hall Middle School this Saturday, June 9 on fields #5 and #6, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. where people can play kickball, bring their families, and register for the upcoming season.
