Slow Down on Schroeder Avenue

As a new dad, I am very concerned with speeding cars on Schroeder Avenue. The posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour. On a regular bases, I've witnessed cars nearly doubling this.

Yeah, start thinking about someone else besides yourselves.
Slow down on Seven Courts National Speedway, too!

Congratulations on entering the parenthood business. It's a blast.

However, I have read here on Patch that speeding is not dangerous and does not cause accidents. A young man named Mr. Fisher will give you all of the data and links you could need to prove that. So cars going 40-50 mph down your street? Relax. Not a problem.

Congratulations on your child. I hope you are successful in getting people to slow down and make your street safer.

At one point, I was living on a Baltimore County road that was highly prone to speeding. I contacted Baltimore County and due to the fact that I lived with a handicapped adult and children with disabilities, (I do not know if it is available to anyone) that a "traffic study" would be conducted in order to place possible signage encouraging drivers to slow down. Also, I was also told that if I wanted a sign that read, "Slow down: Children at play" or something close that that wording, that I could purchase the sign myself, install it and maintain it according to county standards. This was about 4-5 years ago, so I hope the same options are available if these could be of help.

It is frustrating to have small children about and vehicles speeding all the time. We watch our children but that one time a ball flies out and a kid doesn't think...well, if you're speeding, you can't slow down in time. Good luck.

Thanks All :)
I just want to prevent the preventable and attempt to remove one less danger from this broken world.
