Workers recently laid the foundation for Perry Hall's , located at the corner of Silver Spring and Belair roads.

Construction remains on schedule, said Tiffani Washington, a Walgreens spokesperson. The new store is expected to open this winter.

It's "certainly not uncommon" for the store to be located just two miles from an , Washington said. Nearly two-thirds of Americans live within three miles of a Walgreens.

"Lots of research goes into site selection. Something in the research indicated a need for this in the community," she said. "This area likely has a growing population of seniors or people about to become seniors—boomers."

These age groups tend to have a higher demand for , which account for 65 percent of Walgreens' total sales, she added.

Really? There's a need for yet another store like that with CVS across the street (and another a mile or so north) and 2 Rite Aids, 2 Weis Pharmacies, 2 Giant Pharmacies, WalMart, Target, and the list goes on.

The intersection of Belair Road and Silver Spring Road will become a more dangerous intersection with all of the additional Walgreens traffic. However, I agree that another Walgreens is needed in Perry Hall. I had to wait in such long lines at the CVS & Rite Aids in this area that I started going to other outlying pharmacies, most of which are also busy. It's great that additional jobs will come to Perry Hall, too.

To the crybabies on this forum....Mind your own business. If you don't want to shop at Walgreens then don't. Traffic-its bad and will continue to be so. Don't hamper progress and job creation.

To Perry, who thinks he knows better then us. Walgreen's isn't progress. This IS our business. If you don't like it, get out.
