Is a Royal Farms Coming to Perry Hall?

A leasing company representative said the convenience store is expected to replace the Belair Road BP station.

For weeks, the fate of the former along the 9600 block of Belair Road, was a mystery.

"We didn't know it was closing until the day of," said Kristen Green, director of , across the parking lot from the stripped gas station.

Business owners have speculated about its replacement. "We've heard that it's going to be a Royal Farms or the ," Green said.

If a Royal Farms came to Perry Hall, would you shop there? Tell us in the comments.

A representative for Continental Realty Corporation, which owns the Brick Bodies Square shopping center, confirmed that a Royal Farms gas station and convenience store is planned to replace the BP, although the representative declined to be identified and said she had no information on when it was expected to open.

Calls for comment to the corporate offices of Royal Farms, a Baltimore-based company, were not returned as of Monday afternoon.

I would love to see a Wawa there, instead of a Royal Farms store. I LOVE Wawa! I probably wouldn't shop there if it was a Royal Farm, not even for gas, since I purchase my gas at BJ's.

Would be better if it was a WAWA, the footprints of Royal Farms and their new stores require a pretty big footprint. They will take up a lot of space if indeed they do take over the space.

Ditto on the WaWa; I dig their tuna salad subs.

Absolutely I'd shop there. Best chicken you can buy in Baltimore!!

As long as they have chicken!

Why not have another dirty convenience store in Perry Hall after all Perry Hall is going to hell in a handbag anyway!

I couldn't agree more with everyone who wants a WaWa. I would definitely frequent a WaWa but most likely would not go to a Royal Farms. Christie Pulvino you are right about those tuna subs! They are so good!

I was just in a Wawa this afternoon up towards Belair. Didn't get anything to eat (unless you call a MetRX bar food) but stopped in and it looked like it had a pretty good variety of hot/cold food for people. Here's what confuses me though. Jeff above says Royal Farms takes a big footprint and Wawa would be a better fit. Maybe he's right, but...I was under the impression Wawa stores took up much more space then your standard Royal Farms. Example: the Wawa on Belair Rd. I was just in - there is no way it'd fit in that space. How small do they honestly make Wawa's? Because I haven't seen any small ones.

I think Royal Farms would be a great addition to Pery hall. I look forward to it opening.

I would much rather have a Royal Farms Store there I especially like their fried chicken. I tried the new Gino's on Joppa Road and was disappointed.

Emily said to comment here after I commented on FB. We are always looking for new Girl Scout cookie booth sites! Royal Farms has always been welcoming in the past. Cookie booths start in Perry Hall at the end of the month. Make sure you support our local Girl Scouts. All of the money stays in our local Council.

Loretta - We love the fried chicken at the Royal Farm store, always get it for our annual family reunion for about 50 people!

I was hoping for a GINOs. :)

Tim - to clarify what I meant. If it were between Royal Farms or WaWa, I would prefer WaWa. Overall though, a Royal Farms or a WaWa will end up taking up much more room in that parking lot. They both have very big footprints and neither build their old smaller stores anymore.

I love Wawa too but i'll take a Royal Farms.
