Couldn't agree more. I have a love/hate relationship with that Safeway. I think the food selection and produce are the best Perry Hall has to offer, yet the lack of cashiers even at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning drives me bananas! I can't even find a manager to complain about it.

i would love to see moms organic grocery in there. you really do not know what you are missing until you try it. one opened in the area where i work in lutherville and the food is so fresh. plus what they don't sell goes to the food bank before it expires. and they have electric post for the hybred cars to hook up to. really great.
Tracey November 08, 2011 at 06:08 PM
Hunt Valley, not Owing Mills.
carol burghauser November 08, 2011 at 06:48 PM
What about Aldi's? I would like a Panera Bread in the shopping center.
Lynn November 08, 2011 at 09:12 PM
No question....I would love to see a ShopRite. They have the best sales!

I would hate to see another of the same type of grocery stores we have all over, we have around 6 large grocery stores that are generally the same, mainly competing with price. I'd rather see a store with more quality, healthy, even local foods, like Whole Foods or Wegman's. We don't have any larger grocery stores that are convenient to PH that have a significant selection of organic and natural foods (especially meats), it's really a shame. I will say though, that I'm really happy to see Nature's Fresh on Bel Air Road, and I suppose a store like Whole Foods might take business away from a store like that, which would be the one downside.

carol dont suggest an aldi, last time I did i was told that perry hall isnt ghetto like all the other area;s with aldis. I my self would love to see an aldi. As for trader joe and whole foods. the area doesnt have the right income to support that type of store.
Dan November 09, 2011 at 01:35 AM
Aldis.... isn't that the store that creates its aisles out of the packaging/boxes that the produce arrives in. Nothing says class, or up-and-coming like an aisle assembled out of cardboard boxes. Trader Joe's is great, but isnt the square footage too much for them to consider?
Marje Lentz November 09, 2011 at 11:52 AM
This would be a fantastic idea !!!!
Susanne Bates D C November 09, 2011 at 12:34 PM
I would vote for Whole Foods or Trader Joes. There is very limited opportunity to buy organic foods in Perry Hall and it would be a great benefit to get grass fed beef. A Giant or Aidis is not really a change or something different in comparison to what is already here.
Brandon November 09, 2011 at 12:34 PM
A traffic nightmare is exactly what Perry Hall Shopping center needs....(this is not sarcasm)
Jennifer K November 09, 2011 at 12:45 PM
Whole Foods or Harris Teeter would be a WELCOME addition to the area!
Brandon November 09, 2011 at 12:47 PM
What is "Harris Teeter"
PAA November 09, 2011 at 01:49 PM
Maybe they should open another liquor store or drug store. Doesn't seem like there are enough of those in the area, lol. Whatever it is, I hope it's something that will bring business into the area, or at least keep locals shopping in the area. Do we really need another "regular" grocery store? We already have Safeway, 2 Weis, Mars, Giant...maybe that is why Superfresh didn't survive. I don't pretend to have the answer but hope something special comes in...tired of seeing all of the good, trendy, new stores go to Abingdon and Bel Air. Maybe it's time to bulldoze that shopping center and build something new?

Forget about food - we need a Kohl's - lol!!
Tim November 09, 2011 at 03:36 PM
There's actually an interesting idea. I know someone in my household who would be sooo onboard with this.
Stacey Schantz November 09, 2011 at 04:16 PM
I agree with Karen, forget the regular grocery stores, we have tons of them. It's a huge location where a Kohl's could do very well. How many of us drive to Lutherville or Belair to do our shopping. Kinda sick of having to drive 20+ minutes when Perry Hall could have it available here.
jack amrhein November 09, 2011 at 06:11 PM
Aldi is an AMAZING priced store, with good quality products...It would be very convenient, however we already have 3 within 15 minutes of the area so it wouldnt make much sense.
jack amrhein November 09, 2011 at 06:15 PM
Theres a Kohls, right next to Target, 5-8 minutes away right on Martin Blvd...and you dont have to deal with 695 or Belair Traffic!
Joe November 09, 2011 at 11:22 PM
God Please no Aldi...that store is the worst! Panera would be awesome though!
Joe November 10, 2011 at 12:19 AM
That is a great idea...if not Kohls why not another store that is not food related...We definitely have enough grocery stores and carry out food places.
Tracey November 10, 2011 at 12:32 AM
I do go to that Kohl's now, but having one 3 minutes away would be awesome
Dan Smith November 10, 2011 at 03:38 PM
If there were some way to fit a Walgreens and a CVS in there it would fit right in with the rest of PH! Maybe they could leave some room for a tanning salon too...
Tom November 10, 2011 at 03:41 PM
Seriously? lol.
Tim November 10, 2011 at 04:52 PM
Sure, then they could just scoot right over to Silver Spring Rd to do their illegal drag racing afterwards!
Sue November 10, 2011 at 11:02 PM
I agree, I would like to see a natural organic supermarket around this area as well. Although Nature's Fresh has a bigger location on Bel Air Road, their selection is still very small. They don't carry any fresh fruits and vegetables and some of their prices are incredibly high compared to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.
Sue November 10, 2011 at 11:04 PM
I have ventured into a Harris Teeter and found it much like any ordinary supermarket. I wouldn't compare Harris Teeter to Whole Foods but that's just my opinion.
Jessica A. Cieslak November 15, 2011 at 03:33 PM
I would love to see a Kohls at this location !
Stephanie Vecchioni April 10, 2012 at 01:47 PM
Whole Foods please!!!!!!!
