UPDATE (3 p.m.)—The website appeared to be back up.
Wells Fargo customers hoping to check their account balances online Tuesday, Sept. 25 received an unpleasant surprise—the website was down.
The website SiteDown.Co showed complaints about a website outage coming in around 7:20 a.m. and continued past 2:20 p.m.
Several customers complained about the outage on the Wells Fargo Facebook page, prompting an administrator to post the following at about 2:25 p.m.:
Hey everyone, sorry about the issues you may be experiencing! Please try again in a few minutes or you can call one of our bankers at 1-800-956-4442. Thanks and apologies again! ~Henrik
