Tim Palmer came all the way from Randallstown—and it was worth it.
"They have pros here," said the 16-year-old skateboarder. "I saw Sean Malto!"
Palmer, who also won a skateboard, was one of hundreds who attended the Monday afternoon outside .
Organizers moved the event to Charm City Skatepark in Canton early in the afternoon due to rain, but quickly moved it back to the Sears parking lot at White Marsh Mall after weather improved.
Zumiez, a skateboarding gear manufacturer, sponsors the free tour, with 12 stops across the United States. Monday's event featured prizes, a concert, autograph signings, demos, contests, and skateboarding celebrities—Mike Carroll, Brandon Biebel, Sean Malto, just to name a few.
"Everybody's having fun," said Zumiez marketing coordinator and tour manager Steven Settles. "The goal is give back to our customers and say 'thank you.' That's why we bring the tour to all the stops."
