Longtime Perry Hall resident Jack Heavener submitted the following to Patch as a letter to the editor:
I want to give the Baltimore County Police Department all the credit they deserve. They are there when you need them. When I see a police car on the street I love in, when I hear a chopper over my neighborhood, I know they are on the job, trying to protect me and my neighborhood. I am happy that our county has a chopper. Anytime you or your neighbors can help these great people, you should do so. Ride along with them to see what they are up against. Always thank a cop.
How have the police made a positive impact on your life? Tell us in the comments.
I like seeing the local police randomly at 7-11 during the day and night, or doing a drive-thru at the parks, or making a drive-thru after schools let out through the back streets.
