About 1500 business and residential customers lost power at about 5:30 p.m. Monday in the central Perry Hall area, extending to Seven Courts Drive, a Baltimore Gas and Electric Company official confirmed.
It was caused by a downed wire and power will likely be restored by about 7:30 p.m., the official said.
Fire crews responded to a downed wire and sparks in the 9500 block of Belair Road also at about 5:30 p.m., a fire official said. BGE, however, was unable to confirm the connection.
There were at least reported in Perry Hall and White Marsh over the weekend, which officials said were not weather related.
only use cash and there was limited flavors of ice cream to choose. I asked one worker if they were going to have a sale to get rid of some ice cream but no response. Too bad.
I got our stats from BGE two years ago. Between March and August of that year we had 11 outages, and the blizzard and tropical storm outages that year weren't even included. We've thought about investing in some solar panels, even just to cover those things that we would want to keep running during an outage. I think they would work better than the generator we now use, and probably be more cost efficient than a whole house generator. They would save us a little money throughout the year, and hopefully give some power to things when we have an outage. I'm just not sure it's worth the investment in a home that we want to sell.
