The incident reportedly happened south of Garland Avenue on Silver Spring Road.
A juvenile walking on a sidewalk along Silver Spring Road was chased into the woods by four men who got out of a gray sedan and threatened to steal his money, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The attempted robbery occurred at 12:50 a.m. Saturday south of Garland Avenue, according to the report.

Juveniles were robbed in separate incidents in White Marsh and Perry Hall in 2012 for their iPods, Perry Hall Patch reported at the time. Five teens were charged in those cases.

To prevent street robberies, police advise keeping cellphones and other electronic devices out of sight while walking, according to WBAL, which offered the tip during a rise in street robberies around Baltimore City and Baltimore County last summer.

Ok, they were in a gray sedan, what color were they, how old were they, and which way did they drive off?

This past Wednesday around 3pm I was walking my dog off Cottington near the apartment complex. I saw a gray 4 door late 90's sedan, I think it was a Ford Sable. I noticed it because it was oddly driving very slow up the road. It had 4 black men in it (not teens but men). It seemed very odd to me and I know all the local cars I see everyday... these people were not from this area and it was evident by the way they were driving and looking around. I remember the time of the day because I always walk my dog around 3pm and the high school kids had gotten off for the day and often walk up the streets.

Good observation. I'll keep an eye out. We have to call 911, even when it seems like a trivial thing. The hard part is getting them listen, because no crime has been commited. (YET).
