5 Perry Hall, Kingsville Burglaries Reported Within Week

Police urged residents to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods immediately.

Baltimore County police are investigating a series of home burglaries between Nov. 20 and Nov. 25 in the Perry Hall and Kingsville areas.

Capt. Michael Balog of the White Marsh police precinct called the cluster of burglaries "unusual" and said any possible connections remain under investigation. In four of the incidents, burglars entered homes through rear doors.

Police are investigating the following incidents.

  • Silver Spring Road, 4300 block. Between 7:05 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 20. Someone broke a small glass panel to a front door, forced open the door, moved a baseball bat, searched through a jewelry box and stole keys. A silver 2012 Hyundai Sonata was stolen.
  • Hickoryhurst Drive, 9500 block. Between 6:50 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Nov. 21. Someone entered through an unlocked rear sliding glass door and stole an Xbox game console, video games and a backpack.
  • Florio Drive, 4300 block. Between 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 and 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 23. Someone broke a rear glass door and kicked down a deadbolted door. A pillow case and pieces of jewelry, worth about $7,000, were stolen from a jewelry box.
  • Bradshaw Road, 7400 block. Between 4 a.m. on Nov. 21 and 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 25. A rear glass sliding door was broken, but nothing was stolen.
  • Babikow Road, 7600 block. Between 9:20 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 25. Glass panels on a rear door were broken and the door was forced open, but nothing was stolen.

Balog urged residents to call 911 immediately if they see any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhoods. An increased number of officers are patrolling the area.

Here we go again. Be aware and report anything suspicious.

You can try to report suspicious activity, but it doesn't mean anyone will show up. I learned that a long time ago.

Any description of the possible suspect? Good info to know but most of all, glad to know that your family is OK. I'm glad you called the police.

No article or mention about the helicopter man hunt off of Fitch Avenue last Sunday that woke the entire neighborhood at 5 a.m.? Helicopters, K9 units, police going thru yards....One teenager arrested and snitched on the other. They stole a car and were going through our neighborhood opening up cars and stealing stuff. I'd like to know their names so I can go to their house and help myself.

I'll be very happy when I read that a Perry Hall resident put a bullet in one of these idiots. Until that happens they'll continue to come back. I promise that if they come to my house, they will leave with an extra hole.

Were any of this armed?

I wonder if its the same kids that have forced me to take 3 upcoming days off work to appear in court as a witness for the state for their trials. Of course they are released before the trial and then they request jury trials to buy more time. My car (among others) was broken into but fortunately my neighbor saw them in my car and chased them away and they were caught shortly afterwards by the police so my property was recovered. They were going around the neighborhood getting into any cars they could.

People, It's time to see where this country is headed. In a land of "entitlement" the working people are the targets as the "Entitled" get 3, 4 heck ever 5 strikes. Arm yourselves, make sure you take classes & make sure your family is accounted for before blowing a hole in an "Approaching" INTRUDER'S Forehead.....( i know we can't but wouldn't it be nice to than hang them off a post out front to warn others!!!)

My car was broken into at Honeygo park while walking dogs. Window smashed in and purse stolen from under front seat

My son's bike was stolen out of the bed of my husband's pick up truck while we walked the track at Honeygo this past fall. Cars in our neighborhood (near Perry Hall High) are constantly being eyed up but the break-in's have slowed down since the neighbors are sure to lock up and keep nothing valuable inside.

It sure would be nice if I saw a cop once in a while. The only time I see them is when there pulling over a soccer mom for going 10 over the speed limit!

Thanks for posting this. I'm not far from you. We have guns and I've been trained to use them. We also have a dog, and an alarm system which I now keep on even when I'm at home. I'm also going to be extra vigilant about watching what is going on outside of our home. I can promise one thing. If someone forces their way into my home, they won't be leaving.

A burglar was shot and killed in a home on Chapel Rd a year or so ago. It hasn't done any good. Things have gotten worse.
Grace B. November 28, 2012 at 03:48 AM
Several years ago, I told family members that crime was going to increase as the economic climate worsened. Everybody thought I was being overly dramatic. Well, look where we are now, with guns and home security systems.

That's bull crap Shaun! Place the blame where it belongs. On the scum bags not the police! I had a package stolen from my front porch between 5-8 this evening. I called the police at 8:50 and they were at my house by 9:15. Give them some credit! Who are you going to call when you become the victim?
Shaun Connelly November 28, 2012 at 04:12 AM
I'm not saying that the response time is bad. I would just like to see more of them around the area patrolling and not just speed traps.
Evets November 28, 2012 at 11:41 AM
And George down the street says, "I wish those cops would do something about the speeders on this road. They need to set up a speed trap before someone gets killed, but all I ever see is them cops driving around. They never pull anyone over."
Tim November 28, 2012 at 12:41 PM
to be fair, she was probably on her cell phone while going 10 over as well. Cell phone use while driving is a far more dangerous problem overall. It's way, way more rampant with life threatening ramifications.
Michele November 29, 2012 at 06:40 PM
Maybe if the cops were patrolling the recently targeted areas rather than constantly setting up speed traps, we wouldn't have as many break ins.

This sound like another case where some hardware (placed out of child reach) was almost needed. Glad your family is safe.
Bill Howard December 01, 2012 at 08:09 PM
@Invisibella....Most of these folks are on drugs. You will need more than one bullet.
Bill Howard December 01, 2012 at 08:12 PM
Obama tried to give folks free phones so they would not have to steal stuff. How has that worked out?

Another daytime burglary was reported on Monday in Kingsville - http://perryhall.patch.com/articles/cash-credit-cards-stolen-from-kingsville-home

@John Can you provide any information/links to your "event"? I'd like to research further...find out where all these kids are coming from and see what my neighborhood has to do to help curtail these sort of things from happening. And I wouldn't mind going to THESE kids houses and help myself to some of their stuff...just to give them a taste of their own medicine. Apparently the idiots that were involved in my neighborhood's event were apprehended (one caught and snitched on the other one), but I haven't been able to get their names yet.
